AFFINITY has been a musical mainstay in Phoenix, Scottsdale and the Valley of the Sun for many years.  The band was founded in 1973 by Les Koel, Jim May and was joined by Dave Grale in 1976.  They performed as a quartet at most of the valley night clubs and resorts through the 70s and 80s with such notable performance as the first regular house band for the Phoenix Open Bird’s Nest, three years at the mountaintop Silver Lining Lounge at the Pointe At Tapatio Cliffs, the Gold Room at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and were chosen as the band to represent GE Lighting in New York City for the relighting of the Statue of Liberty Gala Celebration in 1986. They became famous for their fantastic four part harmony on jazz favorites by the Four Freshmen, the Mills Brothers, and other great vocal groups.  Today they are a ten piece powerhouse band with an extensive repertoire including 6 decades of great dance music… still featuring all the great harmony, led by Les Koel and Amber Dirks on lead vocals, with Billy Abdo, Dave Grale, Tim Ponzek, Todd Chuba and plus their great Horn Section.  

Although based in Phoenix, AFFINITY has traveled nationally and internationally for corporate and social events of all kinds. They have shared the stage with Ray Charles, Michael Buble, The Beach Boys, Mel Torme, The Four Tops, Melissa Manchester, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Dolly Parton, Glen Campbell, Barbara Mandrell, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, The Temptations, Dionne Warwick & Burt Bacharach and many, many others.
